The only big mistake you made was not parting out the prelude first.

I think you did fine on the purchase. What most of these characters are not taking into account is the fact that you got if from a Honda dealer and got 12K bumper to bumper warranty and out to 100K on drive train (excluding clutch of course) -- just don't mod the car.

Edmunds pricing in your area shows a retail value for a Certified warranted car at 25,300 for a car in Outstanding condition and 24,400 for a car in just Clean condition. I imagine yours is somewhere in between.

Drive and enjoy.
Did you read the thread???

"I just bought a Sebring '02 with 17,700 miles on it for $21,000. The car was also bought from a honda dealership and was certified. This was in the southeast so things may be just really different up in the northwest. "

Alright thanks guys, I appricate the feedback. As someone else said, up here in Seattle S2000 prices to seem to be much higher. I still think I could have talked them down a bit.

One more question I have: Looking at the carfax, it shows it was "Registered as lease vehicle" up until the point I bought it. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. Thoughts on that?

I bought my 02 with 20K miles after it being a lease vehicle. To me, I think it's a GOOD thing. Because someone who leases the car usually isn't going to mod the hell out of it, or slap a supercharger on it because they know it has to be turned back into the dealership.

Sure, I read the thread. Your post just wasn't up yet. I don't exactly do a refresh and reread before I reply.

Anyway, I still think his deal is fine. Yours was better. Who cares? Let him enjoy his new purchase and don't rain on his parade is what I say.

"Hey, your new car is just beautiful -- that was a good choice". "Hmmm, that was a pretty good deal". You know the routine.
