I was driving down a street in cincinnati that has a 50mph speed limit and 1 or 2 stoplights. I always floor it from the lights because its a fairly empty street and it is a 50 zone. I pulled up to the red light next to a jetta with a middle aged couple in it and took off when the light turned. I shifted hard and I heard tires bark. I was all proud of myself because I thought I had executed a perfect shift to bark good SO-2's in the torqueless wonder. Right then I looked in my rearview mirror and apparantly the jetta was racing me. I dont street race so I shut down, but I wasnt sure if it was his tires or mine that barked. I guess they were since I have never heard even a chirp out of my SO-2's. Is it even possible to bark good SO-2's in the S? I took off the airbox on mine and I swear it feels like it changes the torque curve enough to be able to chirp the tires. With it off, a really quick upshift knocks me back in my seat and has even caused the CD player to skip. Maybe my shifting skills have just improved since I took the airbox off- who knows?

I bet you chirped your S-02's. I'm a grandma daily driver but get on it from time to time. With the S-O2's I could chirp between 1-2 fairly regular. I have Kumos (spelling?) now plus they replaced the clutch with the newer '02 version apparently and I chirp 1-2 and 2-3 from time to time. Face it, you have a superb car. It's the car all the other rice burners try and match in speed and looks.
Congrats!

Its not the air box....Just recently saw a thread and a guy did a dyno with the box lid and without the lid, torque and hp where lower without the lid. So ya must be driving better. But ya sure it wasn't the jetta i had a gti and could bark into second at ease...loud too. Ya hit it right at shifts you can make them bark or chirp or what ever.

I appreciate the compliments but it's not Zaino. It's Maguires GOLD. I will be ordering Zaino so don't cancel your orders. The car was just detailed by hand (me) a few days prior to that shot and I washed it minutes before that pic was taken PLUS it's in the shade.

I'm a daily driver but it's garaged at home and work. Everything I've heard Zaino is the real deal so I'm placing an order ASAP. I have the form printed off and reviewing the order now.

Thanks again though. It means alot!!!
