descriptive noise, not from brake pads
A rear wheel/rotor noise started almost overnight and has continued for a few days now. It's a rotational squeak noise that becomes more noticable as the car decelerates from about 20mph to a stop even when the brakes aren't applied so i know it's not the brake pads.(plus the brake pads make more of a 'srape' noise) It does not occur at all when the car is accelerating from any speed. A friend said it might be that the rotors are "getting thin." I think it's only coming from one rear wheel though. The car has 54k miles and I don't think the rotors have ever been replaced. Should I replace the rotors? And if I replace the rotors and the noise is still there what might it be from?

Welcome to rear wheel bearing replacement, chances are good your hubs could be scored too... Hard to do a proper diagnosis over the forum, but here is some reading for ya.

And costly too I might add...
My repair was covered under Honda Care, but the total for both hubs + both bearings + labor was over $800. For me the extended warranty paid for itself in basically one repair.

^ No need to do both front and rear, they wear at differnt rates as they have very different loads/stresses. I would howver newver replace just one side, I know lots of people do replace say just a left rear bearing and hub, but for me, if one side is going to get done, I want both sides done.

if you haven't re-torqued the axle nuts yet, i would do that first. you can search for it and find all kinds of instructions and conversations about it, but the short of it is the factory torque setting was 180 lb/ft, and has since been updated to 220 lb/ft. i started experiencing the same noise you're hearing, and re-torquing the axle nuts silenced the noise. don't let it go too long before you do something about it.
