Deciding on whether or not to close the deal on a AP2, Need some counseling!

I offered 17k. Although I noticed it has toe/camber wear on one of the tires, and a aftermarket head unit possibly hinting to the car having issues down the road due to being f'd with.
Thanks for all your insight and advice. I might just have to hold on for a while. I'll see if the dealer will work with me on price.

I should clarify that the Honda Of Dulles car is $15,999.00. After fee's, taxes, processing it comes to 17k.
Technically the car is selling for 16k. Would 15k be more appropriate?

If the car is clean and has no body/chassis damage then $16k is a good deal. But it's tough to tell from photos. I'd stay away from the car you posted that had front bumper damage.
On Honda's every body panel has an ID strip, check to make sure they are all there, and that they have never been masked off and painted over. Check the bolts that hold on the front fenders and trunk, the paint will usually be knocked off the bolts if they have been removed. Check for signs of overspray.
You mentioned the drivetrain feeling loose, that shouldn't be the case. Drive a few other S2000's to make sure.

I'll be taking a look at this one soon and seeing if both cars feel the same.

Saw this one as well...

Not a chance in hell I would buy it.
I looked at everything the "what to look for in used S2000" thread. Minus double checking the individual body part tags.

I looked at the 06 everything went wrong the battery was dead the top was in bad shape, been in two accidents. Such a shame. Only an 06' with 40k miles and it's a piece already. The 05' with 82k miles is mint!! I just want to drive a second one to make sure that's how a s2000 should feel.

While what you said might be true of a bad wiring job, Modifry sells a plug and play harness for certain radio brands. But I'm with you, I havent ever purchased a modified car and I dont think I would ever want to. Be sure to check craigslist for cars too.
