Default Dealership said new oil filters coming soon

I went to dealership yesterday to get an oil filter and was told that honda has revamped ALL their previous oil filters and made a one filter does all that even works on their hybrids. The guy who helped me said that the s2k was the only car in hondas lineup that isnt using the "generic" filter right now but they will be coming out with it soon. I also got the filter for 5 bucks (so i bought 4) and im assuming they want to get rid of them before the new ones come out.

is this new news or is this a known change?

Regardless, $5 for the PCX filter is a great deal.

They changed the previous oil filters to the one size fits most back in 03. That is the PLM filter.

The PCX filter is still the only one recommended for a S2000, and your parts guy probably doesn't realize that.

Most dealers will swear up and down that the PLM is the correct filter. It fits, but it ain't right! I get the PCX004s from H&A. Cheap, too!

I've always used the HAMP filters. I bought like 12 of them a couple years ago. Still have a couple left.

The S2k PCX filter did just switch to a new manufactuer, but it is held exclusive from the other Honda generic filter.

Years, just keep it in the plastic wrap. A lot of us buy a large quantity of filters once rather than 1 at a time as we need them. I personally have about a 2 year supply sitting here.
