why are you leasing in the first palce, just buy the car, leasing is the worst thing you can do, its like renting an apartment at the end you have nothing to show for it, and whole bunch of money wasted... if your gonan lease a car you mind as well go to enterprise or avis and rent a car for 3 years
That is not a fair blanket statement.
Depends on the type of employment you hold, where the greatest tax benefits lie, etc.

For MOST people it's just a way to get a nicer car for less monthly. If you plan to make payments on a car for the next 10 years anyway, maybe it's more important to have something new during that period, with a warranty, and then commit to buying something when you are more prepared later, in a better financial situation, etc.

I agree leasing is definitely not for everybody, like the dealers say it is, but it IS right for some people.

do an email to 5 dealers in your area, ask them if they can match or beat the purchase deal you thought you had, and then ask for their best deal. you will find a car pretty quickly when you are a buyer, you have to be able to act.

Tell them you are a buyer, now!

what happend at the other dealer happened to me...i ordered a car via fax from a salesman and when it came in he was no longer there and it was not the correct car. they tried to sell me another car or two, i had time and waited and got my deal later on...and i had it in writing so they honored it. it was a good deal for everyone....no car dealer can make a deal they cannot deliver on...so don't expect it if they say yes and then later say no...that has also happened to me, forget later...it is has to be now.

also, forget this dealer, their sales staff is outta control and the management cannot do anything about it...go someplace that gives you the best deal you can afford in writing on the spot and act on it. the way dealers do business varies alot for some reason!!!

lessons learned every day.

This may help.... When i went in to lease a 2007 s2000... i was under the impression they were still running lease deals... however... no matter what dealership i went to... which was about 6 or 7... . I was all quoted the same price and they told me there will be no lease deals anytime soon..... It's not a cheap car to lease right now... best I could talk them down to was 499/ month, 2000 down... 12k miles a year.....

If you really want, you can just buy one here in AZ w/ 10,900 miles one it for $22,900. This guy is just looking to sell it for cheap and I've seen the car myself. He started at $25000, then down to $24600, then to $24200, and now @ $22,900. I think he's asking a fair price, because the car is in very good condition.

It's black on black, looks very clean.

Expletive expletive...... this has been a pain in the ass. First the problem with the fired salesman. I then find a dealer with a leftover red 06 (??)...wait can't do that, Honda wants to sell the 07s more....ok we have a red 07 but hurry because service is about to put on a body kit (yuk imo) I call quick, make a good deal...wait, can't do that one....car had already gone to shop for body kit......ok we can do the 06....wait, can't do the 06....has custom wheels that jack the price up. Ok, we can do the 06 again, we just need to find the oem wheels........wait, can't find them...no 06. So I find another red 07. Shit, turns out this is the same red 07 that now has the body kit. Problem is there are two Honda stores, owned by the same dirtbag that are 6 miles apart. They were looking at the same car. AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

So I swallow my pride and disgust and decide to give the original dealer one last try. I was able to make a deal of $1500 down and $379/months. I sign the papers this afternoon.

Sounds like a bait and switch job to me. The dealer heard that you were selling your car (not to them), realized that once you'd committed to selling the car you'd be in a bind if the S2k deal fell through, and offered you something they'd never uphold. Had you chosen to go with it right then and there, there would have suddenly been some reason that they couldn't do that deal.

IMO, unless they can match this, and give it to you in writing, do not do business with them again. Even if this was a legit snafu, and the dealer in question was let go, it's still very bad business to offer something they cannot go through with. Don't let this dealership get your money unless they are willing to go with the original deal. Either they're a) unscrupulous and did pull a bait and switch, or b) they have such poor management that they let their dealers make offers that the dealership cannot commit too. Either way, that's way uncool and they should lose your business.

$349 a month and $2K down on a NEW S2000. That is pretty rare, if I must say so. I know I overpaid for mine, but with $10K down, I'm still paying nearly $500. That's on my NEW 2007. When I originally purchased my 2001, I also had $10K down and was paying $400something a month.
How many months 36/48/60?

10k down & paying more than $500/month? WTH is your interest rate?

I got my 07 for 28.6K, after trade, tax/title etc, the out the door price was $26.6k.

Payments are ~$525 which is about $30 more a month I was paying for my 02. (Which was zero down and financed 60month/$490).
