Some dealers are anal about mods. I had an aftermarket shift knob on my old accord and they almost refused to service the recall.

This is why I do my own service. 
I'll never forget with my first car when the honda dealer said that my SRS light came on because I had plugged neon lights into the cigarette lighter.
