Default Dealer say anything to you

I'm taking my S in for an oil change soon, and I just got a Megan test pipe in the mail. I also have the Mugen exhaust, K&N FIPK and Ricks Header installed on the car. Now I have taken the car in before with the before mentioned add-ons, but should I wait to install the test pipe until after my oil change? Anyone have/think the dealer will say anything about losing the cat?

First off, why are you paying a dealership to do oil changes. You already have an intake, so you can basically do the oil change without even jacking the car on your own.

However, yes, I would wait until after. You never know what type of do-gooder may be working that day.

I can do my oil changes, but I got every other oil change free as part of the cost of buying the car, plus when it comes time to sell the car I can show a receipt for all work done since day one...its what I would look for when buying a used car, especially a sports car. and oh yea, im way too lazy (at least im honest right?)

anyways, thanks for the info justin....anyone else have an opinion

Dude, it's your car, not the dealers'. They shouldn't say anything negative unless you have a problem with the car that could have been impacted by a mod. Otherwise, any mods you have on the car should mean absolutely zilch to the dealer.

I have several mods and never had an issue... guess it depends on the dealer. However go here and you will read the LAW...

Some dealers are anal about mods. I had an aftermarket shift knob on my old accord and they almost refused to service the recall.

Every other oil change is free? How so?

^ Sometimes dealers will throw in free oil changes as part of a lease/finance deal. My 2000 civic si had free oil changes every 5000 miles.

The problem he's having is not the mods on the car... it's the test pipe. Test pipes are illegal in every state I believe?

Just get the oil change a day before you want to put on your test pipe

the free oil change thing was something the dealer offers for customer loyalty...keeps you coming back, and the 50 or so bucks they get every 2 oil changes is still a fair amount of profit for them considering the materials and labor done...at least thats my opinion
