Default Dealer prices on s2k

I have a Honda dealer 50 miles south of me and 50 miles north and have notified both I am interested in buying an s2k. The one to the north told me the best price they can do is 30,178 and that is for in stock or allocated models only. The one 50 miles to the south replied we sell them for sticker which is 33,060, but they may be able to discount it when I am ready to purchase it. $ 2882 price diffrence WTF?

The cheaper dealer looks like it is quoting you a price on an in stock '02 while the other looks like it is quoting you MSRP on an '03. While MSRP certainly isn't a bad deal, $3K off MSRP an no wait certainly sounds like a better deal to me. Unless your fixed on getting an '03, in which case you might want to double check the price quote from the cheaper dealer and see if it applies to an '03.

just bought 02 for little over 30k in MA. I would go with cheaper 02 and save yourself the money other upgrades e.g. grill, snow tires, larger wheels etc.

Ask how many miles are on the in-stock ones. That will affect price.

I would also take note on the deprication between a 01 and 02 to guage what the actual difference in pricing is, but saving 3k is probably the way to go.

That's because all you Belgians are rich. Nice jet you got in the background.

I know that the one for 30.178 is an incoming car that was already allocated and is an 02. I e-mailed the other dealer asking if their incoming s2k is 02 or 03 as they didn't say in their e-mail to me. I think it is an 02 however. I don't want to get my s2k until spring but I want to get details now on price and when to order so I can have it by spring.

I paid 31k this weekend for an 02, but with the 3.99%, I felt pretty good. It's like saving a couple more thousand. I considered an 03 at MSRP, but model year alone can not justify the price difference. 5 years from now (or hopefully more), the difference in the value of the two model years with the same miles will only be hundreds of dollars. Good luck

The dealer e-mailed me tonight the 33k car is an 03. I am going to speak w/ both dealers when the cars come in (and get 2 more test drives!) and see where they are both at with prices on 03's.
