Hello, I just got my S2000 its a Silver 2001 and I took it to a honda dealership. they agreed to replace the plastic and they will be sending the car to a place that specializes in convertible tops. But neither the dealership nor the shop knows about any kit that can help me get the glass top instead. What can I do to get the glass top instead? I thought there was a kit for the frame and then I would need to buy the 2002 top?

my recollection is that the glass window is smaller than the plastic one.
gotta replace the whole top is what i was told...

There is currently NO kit or mod for putting the glass into the plastic window slot. The only successful conversions have been putting whole tops on (an 02 top on an 01 or 00 car) emiea and eticket have had this done. Woodwork (the Honda engineer for s2000) got a look at their cars and a long look at my 01 and an 02 top. If you are getting just your plastic replaced you should, 1. Get a muzmat to keep it from getting scratched/bentup 2. get Mcguires plastic window cleaner 3. consider putting static cling tint on it to protect it's surface.

I doubt it but you could try. I believe that AHM allowed one replacement and since your warranty is up, good luck. The biggest factor in getting something covered under warranty is then dealer. If the dealer pushes hard enough, it will get done. If they don't care, it won't.

There is no official kit. But you can gather the parts. You have to replace the whole soft top to get the glass. You can keep the 00 frame and modify it. I did mine myself about 2 weeks ago. How much did it cost you to adjust the frame? What parts do I need? Considering they will have to take the whole top off anyway to replace the plastic I might just pay the extra money and get a 2002 glass top i think that will cost me $300 extra then I guess I need to pay for the parts to adjust the frame? How much how long did it take you and how hard is it to hook up the defrost?
