aw man...that's it, that put me over the top. I'm very ignorant as far as this upgrade goes though. I've done the reading on what some ups and downs to the mod are. My question is, besides the yellow box, the pin and pinion, and a skilled mechanic, what else will I need?

We will also be offering an optional kit of the key parts needed for the install. The kit will include both pinion bearings, crush washer, oil seal, and nut. We don't have a price yet for this kit, but we can promise it will be a good value.

What is this about?

No, Dan, but if someone wants them we can get them. But my installer tells me that these are unnecessary, as do the S2000 racing club in Japan, of which our agent in Japan is a member.

According to these sources, replacing the two bearings on the pinion is much more important. They tell me the failure of these bearings is the source of many diff problems on the S2000. Given any risk of the bearing being disturbed during replacement of the ring and pinion, they recommend that new ones be installed. So we will hae them in our optional parts kit, for sure.

BTW, we are now an official Yellow Box dealer and thus will be selling this nifty little device for $90, a $10 discount off the price direct from the BlackRobotics, the Austrailian manufacturer of the Yellow Box.

[B]Even if you don't buy the gear set you may want a Yellow Box, since virtually every S2000 made has a speedometer and odometer error of about plus 2-3 percent (in other words, the speedometer and odometer readings are 2-3 percent high).

if you don't care about the speedo, you could always correct it to a -28% and gain some mileage on that warranty.

I have the J's gears. They did not come with bolts or anything else extra - only the ring and pinion gears.
