The rest of the powertrain has nothing to do with what I said. My point was not the highest redline, but the longer powerband. A 3k range is easier to stay within than a 2k range. If the AP2 had a 5k-8k powerband, then I would have nothing to say but
And Honda did make the car more daily-driver friendly. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Gets old when people get so upset about these differences. So?

Yes, it has a narrower powerband. and narrower gears.
It also has a slower stearing ratio. and more shoulder room. a clutch delay valve.
See what I'm saying? There are far more useful differences than "It's got a higher redline yo!!"
Maybe I'm just hoping for too much.

Either way, you are getting one of the finest sports cars ever produced. There are those little differences between the two generations of the S2000, but the bottom line is that both are S2000s....and on a empty two lane full of curves with the top down, it really does not matter if its an AP1 or AP2.

Never settle....
Find a car whose color speaks to you and that's in great condition. The year doesn't matter as (IMO) the differences are minor. Just be aware that MY06+ are somewhat harder to find mod parts for.
