Default Dash Kit Removal

I have a dash kit on my car and I'm thinking of taking it off. What is the best way to do it? I don't want to have any glue residue leftover or damage the surface under the pieces that I am taking off. Thanks for the help.

Two methods....

Heat it up.. and clean off the residue with GOO Gone or WD40..

Or

Just rip it off and hope the glue is cold enough that it will stay stuck to the trim piece

Heat gun and Goo Gone. WD40 is pretty strong and might cause damage.
