Default Damn it-- caught with the top down...

Got home... under sunny skies, hoped out (top down) went inside to take a shower... well speaking of showers.... yeah... rained for about 10 minutes in moderate amounts inside my S... any tips or suggestions from you guys?

I've had the car for about a month now... so I suppose it's better to learn this lesson now and get it out of the way.

I had the same thing happen about 2 months ago.. I am assuming you wiped the car down pretty good with a towel....

Good luck... the car is going to smell pretty rough for the next couple of days. Park it in the sun with the top down if you can.

I got it as dry as I could inside... everything seems fine except... the passenger window will not go up...

You guys think it'll be fine once it's had the time to dry... or am I looking at replacing some stuff.

Make sure you didnt accidentally hit the window lock button.

D'oh... i'm about to run out and check that.

I'll be glad to feel dumb for that being it if I don't have to replace anything...

Welcome to convertible ownership in FL..
I've had mine rained into a several times, no negative long term effects.. keep your leather treated with a good cleaner/protectant.

Steam clean! I heard that does wonders around the "hard-to-reach" areas.

I'm pretty sure steam will ruin your leather... forever. Let this be a lesson to take what you are told here with a grain of salt.
The Wash and Wax forum has loads of "It rained in my S" threads and is a great resource all on its own for keeping your interior and exterior looking their best. Also don't miss the 'Technical' forum FAQ's, (Look at the top of the 'Under the Hood' forum), almost everything you'd ever want to know in there. and I almost forgot.. Read your owners manual.. if you don't have 1 it may be in your secret compartment.
Cheers, Mike

You might not need to replace anything, but if it were me, I'd pull the seats, interior, and carpet to let it dry.

Good luck.

AGAIN, My MY00 was seriously florida downpoured into several times and I never took any seats, carpet, interior, etc. out of it. Almost everything in the car that is not leather is PLASTIC, including the carpets. Just blot everything dry and vacuum out the carpets. My car won car shows up until I traded it at which time the dealership called it "Much better than new condition" (at 4 yrs old) this was months/years after it was seriously rained into. So relax, don't panic, shit happens. It'll dry.
