damn people, I drove 600 miles from Maine to Virginia and 400 miles of that in driving snow on new SO-2's.. just keep your speed down, don't panic when you loose traction just steer into the skid and press the clutch in and keep it under 30 mph and you will be fine.. yeah winter tires or a 4x4 would be nice to have but AREN'T required...

 

Maybe you are lucky, but I would not want to advice this to a newbie nor any other S driver b/c it's kinda like playing w/ a loaded gun, sooner or later, it will go off.

Many of us had this problem of back giving out and spinning and loosing control, even if they had tons of track time experience.

My question is why risk it???

Not worth it, esp if you knew someone who was involved in an accident or seen somebody involved in an accident or treat patients who were involved in an accident. Even if there were no bodily injuries, why risk it???

Guys come on, how much does a beater cost? Probably not as much as tires/wheels to give the S a little more traction. And not have the worries of driving your $30k car in slippery snow. There are already a half dozen guys/girls here spinning their S in wet rain.
