I still have not received the modified windsheild roof rail and won't now until next week, so I have nothing else to report on this project for now.

How much will all of this cost including the street pilot itself?
Would it be cheaper (due to labor) to just buy one of those DVD based GPS systems with LDC screen that retracts back into the DIN size unit itself.
This type of system would have a bigger screen than the street pilot. It will also be many times faster ( I know. I have both type of GPS units). and installation would be very simple. Just replace the factory stereo with this unit
Also you would be able to watch DVD movies and play your CDs on this type of system...

but in an S2K i think there are some clearance issues with how the screen comes out. The screens I've seen involve coming out towards the shift knob and then folding. I'd be worried about clearance issues there.
There's also the security angle. while this is visible, it'd be pretty hard to smash and grab. it's a lot of work, but it's definately a slick setup.
i'm glad rick doesn't make any accessories for my car, otherwise i'd be really poor.

Rick,
Please take me off the list. Can't seem to make up my mind what I want, or can afford. I am also getting used to driving around w/o one - I might go with gauges first. I still want to see how the install comes out though.
Thanks,
john
