Default Cruel and Unusual Punishment

I went to the dealer on 8-22 to place my order for my 02 Sebring/blk and put down a deposit. The dealer tells me my car would be here in 20 days, ok no prob. I got it for under MSRP I can wait 20 days. Later that same afternoon I get a call and they say they got an update and my car will be here on the 29th !!!!WOOW that's only 7 days!!! now of course I can't sleep, I take off from work from the 28th through the 31st, just in case it comes early or late I will still have time to play with my new baby. So Wednesday the 28th at 5:00pm the dealer calls me and says they got another update.... The car isn't going to be here until the 2nd of Sept. You know it would have been better if they just left it at 20 days like I was originally quoted.

Where do you live? I placed an order for my Suzuka Blue 02 S2000 on 8/27, and they told me it would arrive anyday, and now they are telling me it's due in on 9/2/02! It's torture waiting for it! I hope it comes in soon as I can't wait any longer because I feel like i'm gonna bust. I traded in my 02 SVT Lightning, but they said I can borrow it till my S2000 arrives at the dealership, so at least I still have a toy to play with.............

I live in Cincinnati, OH and bought my car from Jeff Wyler Honda in Colerain. They are good guys that i'd recommend and the only guys who were willing to sell under MSRP. The guys are Jeff Wyler Honda in Florence on the other hand are scumbags........

Yeah, well, I have to wait until the end of SEPTEMBER until my Sebring/black '02 comes in. So poo-poo on all of you getting yours in the next week or two.

junehhan, at least you still have the use of your truck, I sold my car about a week before I ordered my S. My mother-in-law got an 03 TL typeS, she was previously driving a 93 bonniville that she didn't trade in because the dealer wouldn't give them anything for it. Sooooo can you guess what I've been pimpin for the last couple of weeks I can't wait for my car to arrive.

You guys are lucky!
In the UK, S2ks ordered in late April or early May are being delivered early to mid September!

I know the feeling. I took delivery of mine this week but not without waiting a month for delivery. When the car was ordered I was told it was in port and should be here within 7-10 days. Actual delivery time was a month. Be wary of dealer's delivery promises.

Always better to under-promise and over-deliver, then your customers think you are a god I live by that!

I will probably be so angry if my car doesn't get here next week. Oh well.........i'll go pull another 25ft burnout with my Lightning to cheer me up

Anyone of you guys who havn't tried taking a Lightning for a spin really should try. It's the most burnout friendly vehicle you can buy with money, but the problem is that the tires cost $220-260 each to replace and have a tread life of about 15k miles not including any burnouts you might do. The fact that it doesn't have a manual transmission option is why i'm getting rid of it. My right arm has started to atrophy because it's got nothing to do!

ordered in june of 2000, picked up Nov 2000. many of the early owners on this board waited a long time because so many dealers were charging over MSRP at the time.

It's worth the wait guys. That does sound like a bum deal but hang in there.
