I'm experiencing this problem as well coming from what seems like my left rear. I had my left rear control arm replaced after an accident. What should I do? Have the dealership lube the suspension? Any one ever have this problem and get it fixed? What did you do?

I had the same problem for a freaking whole year. Yesterday I greased the hood latch AND I raised the rubber bumps that touch the hood just a little bit and greased them. The noise is gone. I wasted so much time checkin the suspension. So do the hood and the rubber bumps first.

Also check that the spare tire is tightly screwed in place. Or else it cleaks over bump.

Great suggestions, everyone. I'll try checking the hood, but it really seems like the sound is coming from the rear of my car! For those of you with the squeeky hood, where did it sound like the noise was originating from?

Guys, great news. I figured it out (well, Curt at C&C figured it out). The squeaking/creaking noise is due to strain on the bushings. I am willing to bet that 95% of you guys experiencing the noise has aftermarket suspensions. Anyway, what happens is that when we jack up the car and put in the new suspension, the car is lifted and the bushings are sitting relaxed. When we mount up the suspension and tighten everything up and sit the car down, the bushigns are being unusually stretched. This is fixed b/c loosening and re-tightening all the joints in the suspension WHILE the car is sitting normally. You will have to get an alignment done after though. I had this done last week and no noise after that. hope that helps!

I have stock suspension and get that "clunk" backing out of the driveway/ going over speed bumps also. Anyone had luck fixing this or is it a characteristic of our cars?

There are so many little noises that I'm starting to lose count and not bothering to find out where they are coming from most of the time ...
