I try not to take her out of the garage if the weather's bad. Have driven 30 miles just to change car because it looked like rain.
Also, have driven 30 miles in rush hour just to change the Fiesta for the S2000 because it had turned sunny ....

She has her own cleaning cloths and towels (for a "bed bath" in the garage if the weather's bad) which have priority over other linen (even our clothes) in the washing machine.

Another 6 months before we celbrate her birthday but its got to be something big ...

I was thinking of all the things I could write down for this thread, but after reading all of these, I'm put to shame by the dedication. You may as well say I kick my S2k on a regular basis and abuse it!

I lost a passion for the S2000 for a while, when it was a daily driver. I spent about 4 hours in the car a day, because I was a roaming salesman and used the S2k to impress clients. It lost all appeal to the point where i wasn't even doing scheduled maintenance on time.

Now, I make sure everything is kept spotless, fluids are kept high, tyre pressure is correct, plugs are in good condition. I look after this baby, and probably only take it out 2 or 3 times a month. But boy, does it get a good run then.

The craziest thing I've ever done? Changed my budget down to slimming the number of times I go out a week, so I can get my mods sooner!

Oh, well, at least nobody has admitted to turning down an opportunity to be in the Big Bed with the Significant Other in order to spend more quality time snuggling up with the S2000.

Let's see...
Cut down all the trees around my driveway so no nuts or sap could damage the car.
Bought a second car so the S would not be subject to city/ work duty.
Bought two car covers indoor and outdoor
And put myself into DEEP hock to own such a fine machine.

So worth it!

I only drive it on weekends, but I go out to the garage and sit in it a couple nights a week. My wife believes I'm odd.

Built a garage for the car specially.

Carpeted the garage

Insulated the walls

Put a large mirror on the wall so my baby can look at herself

Crawl under the car to wipe down any dirt on the propeller shaft and other parts

Shine the exhaust tips after EVERY drive

Clean the alloys every other drive

Spend two days applying the Zaino stuff

Talk to her when entering and leaving the garage

Check my website for pics of the garage and the mirror!!!

We all have the sickness, don't we?
Let's see -- for 2002, Honda wrapped the old aluminum shift knob with a leather band -- so I of course replace it with an all-aluminum knob...and a leather knob sock.
..And then there's the microfiber towels...and more than $100 worth of Zaino...and the radar detector...and the wheel badges...

But every time I look at that car I still don't believe it's mine. So it's all worth it.
