Default Craftsman 4000 lb. Capacity Aluminum Jack

Anyone else has this jack and how do you like it? Given its low profile jack point and 2 ton capacity, it will certainly work with S as well as SUVs. Thanks

I have that jack and like it but you can't buy parts and have it fixed if it ever breaks. The other jack i have is a low profile jack from Omega and it is completely serviceable should it break.

if you must buy from sears at least consider the 1.5 ton jack. i dont see cars getting more heavy any time soon

my sears jack has not held up well. its a necessity for any automotive work, so if you have an interest spend money on the basic tools you will use for a long time. dont buy the sears jack.

The reviews on the Sears site don't look very good

if you have a harbor freight near you, it might be worth checking out their floor jacks. i have one of their low profile models for $150 which has served me pretty well.

Stay away from the Sears jack. Very high failure rate. Mine's leaking too.

The craftsman jacks have been terrible in my experience. Yes, you can take them back, but who wants a jack to fail repeatedly? Also, their "warranty" is subject to their own terms of "proper use." I recommend American Forge and Foundry. Other than Snap on, they make some of the best low profile jacks int he industry.

I have the Sears all silver low pro jack that is the $149 unit. The jack has gone through hell with me and is still working fine I jacked a Chevy Astro van with it once and the van fell over on the jack because, I was a dumb a$$ working on a incline. I had to take it all apart to fix it but, I was able to do so
I have had to add fluid to the cylinder a few weeks ago and adjust the jack pressure.
The jack is working better than ever right now and I am very happy with it, I plan to buy another to have an extra.

My Craftsman 1.5 just took a dump after 3 years of light, track only use. Not acceptable in my opinion. The u-joint connecting the handle to the pump assembly broke apart. Sears won't sell any replacement parts for the jack. It's too bad, I liked it because of the low saddle height.

If alum jacks are to be considered wear items, I'm just going to buy a Harbor Freight unit now and replace it every couple years. My steel jack at home has been going to years and years though.
