I wish you good luck. If you have an extended warranty that was transferred to you, you might just get it done. However, if you don't have an extended, the basic warranty is likely over given the model year of your car as indicated below your username.

Please tell me not following these two guidelines is going to make my top spontaneously combust or something.
ps. I routinely operate my top with the engine running for the same reasons as you. I'd rather have the full charging power of a running engine when operating all those top motors.
pps. Same goes for operating the top in "freezing weather". Honda has absolved themselves of any blame (and consequential warranty claims) if they can show that the approximate time of the damage occured when the documented weather was near freezing.

It was certified pre owned, so it's got the 1 year/12k mile bumper to bumper warranty and 7 year/100k powertrain.

"Bumper to bumper" warrantees also have fine print. Not everything between the bumpers are so covered. Best to pursue this vigorously.

had mine crack just like yours in april, about 55-60 degress out. had a 100K ext. warranty. wasn't covered. Honda gave me a "good faith" warranty claim 100%.

they replaced the window and paid all labor plus rental car. Took 2 1/2 days to do. Now i've been back talking about how the rear window is scratching so much I cant see out of it and they're debating about putting a glass top on and splitting the cost of the top.
Try to get a glass top first. tell them you'll pay for the difference in parts between the top and just the window. I wish I did.

they might as long as they can understand it wont cost anything extra and you assume liability for future issues. the window runs about 200 I believe and a new top w/ glass can be had for 750-850 depending where you buy
