Cost of Ownership?
I'm new here and looking at getting a used S2000 (still deciding).
One piece of info that interests me is the cost of service and maintenance on these cars.
Also, its been a while since I've driven a manual transmission, but even back then (unfortunately) I was typically rather heavy on the clutch (i.e. I'd burn through a clutch ~75k miles or so). What should I expect for the total cost (parts and labor) of replacing a clutch (plus throwout bearing, etc, etc) on an S2000 - I've read in this forum that clutch replacement is expensive on this car, but I haven't been able to find any actual $ costs.
Thanks,
Kyle

If you can do it yourself or have a good mechanic, you can find the OEM clutch parts at www.handa-accessories.com. Honestly though, I would take the opportunity to replace it with high performance parts so you do not have to worry about it. I know comptech makes clutch parts. Check it out.

the cost of maintenance is pretty low... oil changes every once in a while (and they are easy to do yourself if you really want to save money).
what do you do that is hard on the clutch? i drive hard and rarely replace clutches. you must be doing a lot of rev and drop... ?

Don't forget the cost of tires. Serious drivers who live near "interesting" roads can easily go through a set in 10,000 miles. Flatlanders might get 20,000. The tires cost 2-3 times as much as for boring cars.
I pay more to maintain my S2000 and I'm happy to do so.
