Correct me if I am wrong but

Koni Yellow in a red box is correct
(it's about the part #)
Front left: 8041-1278L Sport.
Front right: 8041-1278R Sport.
Rear: 8041-1279 Sport.
(that is what I see on your damaged box too )
Make sure the adjuster turns.
You could test the rebound adjustable damping by compressing the shock with the adjuster fully closed and then slowly opening it up.
Also, check the bottom brackets.
They should be parallel.
Make sure they are, otherwise you may strip your bolt.
The bolt should go in with no problem, with the shock on the workbench.
