To me HIN is a kid's event these days mostly for teeny boppers (sorry if I sound kinda old cuz I am...haha)

Car show promoters however must look REALLY bad to allow a cop to pull you over INSIDE the show, that is just crazy! This is the same reason why people trailer show cars that are illegal for the public roadway and drive them into the show at the gate...can you imagine they get pulled over for loud exhaust? LMAO

Yes, sir. That's CA law though. You'll have to look up Florida law.

Hm, In my Solara, I had clear lenses with a bulb that was blueish/amber.
However when the turn signal was on, it lit up amber. Is it illegal because its not an amber bulb by looking at it?

You are wrong. CA law says the front turn signal lights can be either white or amber. You can read it here:

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc24953.htm

The OP posted this on the CA-Bay Area forums as well. He wrote:
i think i just owned the officer. he wrote me up for a section 26100 which reads "No person shall sell or offer for sale for use upon or as part of the equipment of a vehicle, nor shall any person use upon a vehicle, any lighting equipment, safety glazing material, or other device that does not meet the provisions of Section 26104."
Here's that section:
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc26104.htm

Basically, the citation has to do with the aftermarket lenses that may not be DOT-approved.

If you're in California, traffic laws mandate that all side reflectors be of an amber color.
its not really just a cali law.

the federal DOT requires amber reflectors up front, and red reflectors in the rear.

examples would be the 350z (the thin amber strip in the bumper), or the lexus rx-series (they have clear tail lights, but red reflectors in the rear bumper). over in europe or japan, the regulations aren't 100% the same, so you'll have differences in the other markets.

I know there have been issues in the past with companies bringing over european cars that have to add the amber reflector to pass regulation.
