Everyone! In the March 2000 issue of Money magaine there is an article of the 10 best cars of 2001. On page 114, you'll see their pick for the best sports car. Yep, it's our baby!
Here are some choice quotes from the article....
"..the Honda is fantastic fun on the road. Its precise handling and startlingly good brakes add to the sports car pleasure."
"In fact, I think it is better looking than the Boxster, though I am sure Porsche loyalists will disagree"
"Bottom Line: Driving the S2000 makes you feel great. Sure, it's noisy at high revs and there isn't much space -.... - but it offers a great driving experience."
"You'll pay full sticker of $32,300 for this much-in-demand car, but you'll never regret it."
Ah, another one in the fold. Oh, the picture in the magazine is of a Yellow car.
So everyone pat themselves on the back for getting the best sports car availabel in the US (according to Money magazine).

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet............Just got my magazine today in the mail too. I agree with them "Honda S2000 will get your andrenaline pumping". They have a nice [yellow]yellow[/yellow] pic of the S2K on the article. Woohoo!!!Very good PR...

It's nice to hear of a favorable report about our cars; however, how much stock should we put in this particular magazine's opinion since we would probably denigrate this opinion if it was anti-S2K or pro-something else. Moneyshould probably stick to what it does best and leave car analysis to mags like C&D or R&T,which, by the way, many members of this forum have been critical of as well.

I would venture to say that Money magazine appeals to a different demographic than magazines like Car and Driver. Money magazine is usually for more conservative investors. I've noticed over the years that they go on and on about saving for retirement (as they should), etc. and tend to frown on agressive investing.
I am sure that Money magazine readers also intersect with Car and Driver readers, however, I'll bet that they intersection is not as big as we might think. It's also nice to know that the "untrained" observer also appreciates our rides.

Don't forget guys that this is a magazine about MONEY. And it is obvious why they chose the S2000. It is the best sports car for the least amount of Money (kicking butt to many more expensive cars). You can't get a better Sports Car for less than 35k dollars. They put a lot of weight on VALUE.
