how do you know if you have the new ones? I have a my 00 and the last 4 #s on the identification thing list it as a #7700 produced or something. Mine are pretty tight and I use them alot. Is it normal for the strikers to wear some of the black paint off every time you latch?

I did the clear silicon tubes...Works Like a charm....Get smaller ones that you need put them in boiling water and they will be come very plyable. This will allow you to slip them on. Get clear and you won't even notice they are there.....no more windnoise for me when the top is up

interesting, mine is def metal lol but didn't ever think about grooves or not. Maybe the previous owner took care of it or are some 00 models immune from this? All I know is I have those small scaratch marks on the strikersfrom wearing. I'll check later.Basically mine is perfect tight and gets used alot. Anyone have pics for the differences?

My '04 is doing this already at a bit over 9k miles on the passenger side. It's annoying the crap out of me. I guess I'll try the silicone tubing. What size did you get (for the ones that've tried this)?

There is a way to adjust it, but it's by the base of the softtop, behind the seat. If youput the softtop down, you'll see a bolt w/ a rubber head and it's held by a lock nut. I can't for the life of me loosen that nut to adjust the softtop. But it's there ... I did the striker replacement because my top was leaking where the top, windshield header and window meet. And after the replacement... it still leaks there... Most annoying thing... it dribbles down to the window sill thing and leaks into the door. but i digress.

the plastic tubing works great. just cut 2 small pieces and slip the over the latches. gave just that little extra tension needed to stop rattle and wind noise, not noticeable enough to look bad, and easily replaceable when the tube starts to wear.

I just bought a 2001 S2000 and am brand new to these Honda cars. The top is not sealing above the windshield on the drivers side. There is a pretty big air leak when the top and windows are up. The metal fitting on the top corner of the windshield where the top latches on is groved. The latch feels as if i needs to be tightened.
I can't picture how the silicone tubing fixing the leak problem. Anyone willing to snap a picture or your fix? How can I tell if the latches have been replaced?
Thanks
