Default Convertible roof treatment

Hi All,

Just wondered if there was any need to treat the convertible roof of the S2000 with any products to protect it from the elements?

If so,can anybody recommend anything?

I know autogly do a treatment but someone said supaguard(whatever that is) is supposed to be good..

Should i do my S's roof or will it be fine as it is?

I live in the UK so if anybody can recommend a product...

Cheers..

Yes, you should treat and protect the soft top at least once a year. 2 to 3 times if it's subjected to a lot of intense UV radiation or extremes of weather.
Aerospace 303 Protectant is quite popular here. I've used this and also "Low Gloss" ArmourAll. Both work well.

I've been using raggtopp, and am very happy with it.

is there a need to clean it first? or does that 303 stuff both clean and protect? i was looking around in the wash/detail section, and i was about to pick up some 303. never did find anything about the cleaning part though.

303 is the best! When it rains some of it runs off and gets the car oily. Did I use too much?

Do you not wash the soft top when you wash the car? This should be part of the car wash regimen. The best time to treat the top is after it has had some time to dry after a car washing. Don't use a treatment on a dirty top.

Probably. Don't spray the protectant directly onto the top. Spray it on a lint free cloth or sponge applicator and wipe it onto the top. Leave the top up at least over night in a garage to dry. This should reduce the amount of "run-off" considerably.

good point. what i meant was the inside...which i'd imagine is real dirty since i almost always drove with the top down over the summer. but i guess you answered my question, because if all you do is wash the outside when you wash the car, then you'd wash the inside with the same stuff. right?

I wouldn't wash the "inside" of the top with anything. The linings not designed for that, it would take forever to dry out if saturated. Brush/vac should be sufficient.
Definitely don't use 303 on the lining!
