Considering selling C6 Z06 for S2000...

Wow, and I'm trying to decide between an S2 and a C5 Z06. I know that comment is absolutely no help but I thought I'd throw it out there. My concern is that I'll get bored with the lower powered S2 and want something that's more of a handful.

The S2000 is not "VERY" underpowered. 0-60 in the mid 5s is nothing to sneeze at. The problem is you have to rev the piss out of the motor to get anything out of it. Put your foot down in 3rd gear at 2000rpms and nothing happens. Do the same in your Z06 and you practically catapult across the road. So yes, there is little torque and there is a more narrow performance band for the engine. It's still plenty fast enough to get you into trouble and it's power is more accessible in more situations than the Z06.
Driving wise, the S2000 will feel smaller, and more agile. It will also be arguably more fun to drive "slow" on public roads. It's really just a personal preference as to which you will like better. Go test drive an S2000 and see what you think. Also worth noting, is that you'll pick up about $30,000 trading in your C6 Z06 for an S2000. You could supercharge your S2000, make a few other tasteful mods, then still be ahead $20k over the Corvette.

Its been said its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow, and for me at least, this applies here. Of course the S is not 'slow', but you get the point, its a svelte athlete compared to a powerful linebacker, or some other football position that equates to hulking build yet surprisingly quick.
I know I would enjoy the intoxicating power of such a car, but I also know I wouldn't be able to use all of its capabilities very often. That is what I love so much about the S. All its performance is so accessible. Its just fun to drive all the time. Since its so tossable, its fun even when you aren't breaking the sound barrier.
If it was just a weekend car, I can see going for the vette (or sticking with the vette). Its outragious, but you'd only drive it when you want outragious. But for me my fun car is my 3 season dd. For me, the S fits that need better than the vette would.

Apparently some people didn't even read the original post. I've had two S2000s in the past and right now I'm missing them. It's not like I'm a stranger to the S2000 and am considering jumping ship for the hell of it.
Here's a pic of the Z...it's an 08 2LZ with 35k miles.
And with OEM ZR1 wheels and a wrapped roof...
I'd be looking to get around $44,000. Car has new brakes, new Bridgestone tires which were $1900 and all other maintenance is up to date. No accidents/paintwork and I think it might have about 3 rock chips from bumper to bumper...lol.

Wow failed to read u owned one already lol. Maybe I was too locked into the fact u wanted to change lol.
in that case the only way to know beside doing it, is not driving the Z atleast a week or 2 and some how drive around in an s2. Other than that. Just gotta do it. Like I ask my customer's. Whats your goal and what kind of driving do you do.

I agree with most and will say the S is probably more fun to drive. I have never driven a C6 but the C5 just didnt feel as precise and it felt like I was driving a very large car.
