I had a 2001 s2000 with 46890 miles...I bought this car like 2 months ago for like 25k...yesterday, i traded this car in for another s2000 that is a 2002, only 7500 miles!!! And the car was given to me for 22k!!! I know you guys are probably thinking it was wrecked or something but I checked online, talked to the previous owner and it is so new!!...Now I think its worth doing something to...So happy!!

PS_I pushed it to the limits with the air box off last nite and it only went 148mph...has anyone gone faster when it was stock like mine is?

148MPH seems slow for top speed. I've done 267kmh (166MPH) with the airbox on, on the Autobahn. You will lose some hp with the airbox cover off, too.

Of course, different tyres, tyre depth, wind, road, weather, speedo error, etc come into play..... What rpm were you at? I was at about 8500rpm.

They say S2000 engines perform better as they age. I have 101.000km on mine now. Perhaps your new car just needs some more time to fully open up.

Perhaps the ECU has "learned" how the previous owner drove it, and you need to drive it the way you want to for awhile for it to adapt.

25K for 2001 w/ 46K miles? WOW! How much did you get for it on trade-in? I am guessing you bought the 2002 from a dealership?
