Default Confused about final gear in HTG website

I'm looking at Hard Top Guy's website and am a little confused. The housing upgrade menu has 3 options:

1. Comptech Housing
2. 04-06 Housing
3. My stock housing is just fine

What does #2 mean? So that's just an AP2 housing without Comptech's reinforcements? Or is it because the AP2 housing doesn't require reinforcement? I have an AP2 and am wondering if I should be selecting #1, or just need to select #3 (I do want to reinforce my housing if there is such an option).

Tried running searches, but the "gear" threads were all about 4.56 vs 4.77, whether final drive gears would help on dyno and acceleration, etc ...

Let me know if this has already been posted.

Thanks.

i think the options are you can upgrade to the comptech reinforced housing and/or to the ap2 housing (for ap1 owners). ap2 owners only need the comptech reinforced since we already have the ap2 housing.

hope that helps (i have an ap2 with ct reinforced and 4.57r gears)

One is shipped from Texas and the other is shipped from Ohio. Other then that they are the same.

AP2 housing is stronger then the AP1 housing. The CT housing is stronger then both. There is a thread on this in the UTH FAQ if you want to know more.

Both should be the same once CT is done with them.

I upgraded to a AP2 diff when I went with gears. I now wish that I also had teh CT reinforcment done as well, but was too cheap at the time.
