Apparently, some of the Comptech front strut tower bars for the S2000 have a problem with hitting the hood. We had a customer with one of these bars send it back so we could check it on our car. It does hit on our car, where as the one we had already on our car doesn't hit. Something happened in production that changed them, don't know what though.

We are reworking all of our mounts we have in stock and will have some to exchange for those of you having the problem. It will be about 2 weeks before we have them done, so please get in touch with us after Nov. 6th.

I'm sorry for the problems some of you may have experienced, but we will get them all fixed. We appreciate your patience.

Thanks for the proffessional manner in which you folks have responded. Yes, it's my strut bar that you got back, and it's good to know that I am not crazy. Well, let's not put it to a vote. Looking forward to getting the bar back and having it fit properly.

I do not intend to install the bar on my car is there is an issue. I have not installed the bar to date because I heard about the problem. I would like to return mine for the proper brackets. Is this a problem?

Mike, I thought it was a very nice gesture of yours to make this post. It says a lot about how your company does busines. Kudos...

It seems that some people's bar were far worse than other's bars. My bar barely touches the under-hood insulation but doesn't interfere with closing of the hood. Other's bars, as pictures have indicated, would not allow the hood to close completely, as in about 1/4 of an inch.

Anyway, good move on your part, and as for me, I should have gotten the billet one, the red doesn't match my red car. I can live with it though, unless someone wants to trade! Anyone?!
