Ok...here's the skinny...i've got this annoying nissan > honda member that dogs the s2000...he now tells me that the s2000 can't handle the comptech s/c's engine and its slow otherwise...i've researched whether this problems exists and i can't find if it does...i know the s2000 is fast stock...i had the chance to drive one spritingly

i understand high end torque is best for racing but bad for off the line acceleration (of which i'm a track racer not a drag racer)...i know the s2000 is around 2800 lbs versus the more powerful z at 3200 lbs...both get mid 5's 0-60, and similar 1/4 mile times...on a track i expect the s2000 to easily pull away stock for stock...and a s/c s2000 to embarass modified vettes

Nope, it won't embarrass modified Vettes, but they are quite surprised at how well you stick with them. Launching the S is tough and the SC does not change that. If you don't get it perfect you either bog or smoke the tires. It takes a skilled driver to get the maximum from the S. The S is a neat little 4 cylinder sports car that can run with the big guys, not ahead of them.
