Comptech SC questions
I am planning on selling my 02 and buying a 05 used. After, I would like to purchase a Comptech SC with AC. I have several questions regarding the SC:
-for 05 is 4.44 gears and sc with ac a good setup and what am I expected to run with it on the 1/4
-is running a higher boost (9psi) bad for my car?
-do I need bigger injectors for the comptech sc?
-do you suggests i get a vafc controller?
-what is a good shop to get this done at (in southern california) and how much would it be?

I don't own an s2k yet or a comptech s/c, but ill give it my best to answer your questions.
1. You should run mid/low 13's with comptech sc/ac and 4.44 gears from what I've heard around the board.
2. If you plan on running higher than 9psi on a comptech I believe you'll have to get a custom pulley b/c they do not makes pulleys for that high of boost on s2ks. You wouldn't want to run higher than 9 psi without injectors and a vafc.
3+4. If you run the stock kit, you can run it without new injectors and vafc (although without it may run a little rich).
5. I would reccomend getting someone that knows what they're doing, or has done this before and buy a lot of beer/food for them. Its still a lot cheaper that way and then if anything goes wrong you'll have a better idea of what happend. Check the socal board to see if anyone can help. Places will charge you an arm and a leg to get something like that done. Upwards of $1000 when it could be done in 5-7 hours with someone that has done it before with the right tools.
P.S. This should be in the FI section

what i don't understand is that after you putsupercharger on your car and get like 90-100 hp on the wheels, the stock 1/4 mile which is around 13.9 comes down only like half a second. i would exoect something more from a $5000 kit.

I would run the the SC setup first before considering gears on the MY05. If you want gears down the road it can be done.
9lb pulley on a AP2 kit is custom and will require bigger injectors and a piggy back system to manage. I would recommend Greddy ultimate Emanage over a Vafc to tune.
You can get it installed just about anywhere in Socal. Just do some research. cost is around $6-8 hundred. If your in the SD area, we can install it for you for less. I have all the tools. PM me if your interested.
As for tuning you should head up to Church Automotive once you get your 9lb upgrade.

It does seem to be a little odd... I guess I would have expected low 13s as a definite and high 12s for the really good drivers. I figured the setup would shave about a second off in the quartermile. It must be pretty hard to launch with the power. Trapping 108 isn't bad though.

no I know someone for sure that ran a 12.9 in the quarter mile with a comptech sc with ac...everything else bone stock..so I'm sure gears would increase more...but I just dont know how much more

all of these questions would be answer by searching "comptech" in the FI section. If you have any additional questions or want to clarify any of these response feel free to AIM me, but it seems like everyone here answered them. Good Luck!
