Comptech S/C dyno chart
#21
here you go, a chart with torque. Remember the relationship between hp and torque is simply:
hp = torque * rpm / 5252
anyone have the hp figures for under 4400 rpm, so we can see the whole picture ?

I have a S/C kit on order from the 2nd production run... I'm nearly wetting my pants in anticipation!!!
Question: I just received my Mugen headers + TB bore + I am ordering a Mugen ECU in a few weeks... do you think this will do ANYTHING for me under 5000 rpm?
Thanks!!

Remember that the SC pushes in lots more air than stock. So the exhaust might benefit from some improvements. Since an exhaust that is adequate at stock flow levels may not be at the higher levels. Exhaust backpressure rises pretty fast as you increase flow. It might be a good idea to compare back pressure psi before / after and/or retry out some alternative exhausts on the dyno. The stock exhaust might be okay but this needs to be confirmed. If there is some restriction, then some more power and exhaust gas temp reductions may be possible with exhaust mods.

E30M3,
Forgot to mention that along with the Comptech S/C order I have their cat-back exhaust system coming as well... PLUS a BYS "environmentally-irresponsible" catalyst straightpipe coming from MG Racing. I hope the combo of the two will maximize exaust flow...

I've color coded the graph that Humanatek emailed out. If anyone would like a copy, just shoot me an email.... makes it easier to read and is a dyno from idle.
I don't want to post it since Comptech didn't.

Hmmm. It looks like the SCd S2K might benefit from a higher shift point than the optimum for a stock motor. Even more of a screamer. If the rev limit can be safely raised that is...
Also, what is the 2-3-4000 RPM throttle response like before /after?

Finally got some numbers. Dyno today:
287.8 hp (best run 292.5hp)with torque of 173.9. I'm not the greatest with the computer so I'll ask a friend to help me post the actual graphs (overlapping).
2500rpm 50hp stock 50hp sc
3000 70hp 70hp sc
4000 80hp 90hp sc
5000 105hp 125hp sc
6000 135hp 155hp sc
7000 165hp 220hp sc
8000 190hp 260hp sc
9000 180hp 287.8hp sc
The stock motor peaked at 8300rpm with 196.5hp.
With the exception of the peak numbers these are approximate (as best I could read off of the graph). Any questions please post them or private me. jlieber@home.com
