Comptech Reinforced Differential Housing Available at New Low Price
#22
Good point, Stratocaster -
Unless your drop the clutch daily on your super-charged MY00, that is a concern!
I could probably do without my car for a week, but if demand for this goes up, would you still be able to promise a one week turn-around? Maybe a published schedule of those who have pre-paid, or something to that extent. Some sort of system where you would email me, for example, and say, 'please ship me your differential on 11/10/03 for guaranteed return delivery by 11/20/03.'
Something like that. I love my powder-coated calipers, but I had to wait quite a while for previous buyers to return their cores. No big deal if your swapping rebuilt calipers, but when I am sending you my differential core for a direct rebuilding, the timing would have to be fairly precise.
Just my $.02...

I would think, and thinking gets me in trouble sometimes, that a minimum of a 45-day warranty on labor if someone purchased a pre-assembled package from you since there would be the backing of the Comptech warranty if one exists on the parts.

That is a thought. But what would it cover, since infact all we are offering is labor to do the install for you, on your supplied diff. So if something goes wrong with the installation, we would do the installation again at no charge. But that still leaves the cost of replacement parts for the failed installation and shipping back and forth. This is where it gets gray. Was it a parts failure, an installation failure or Driver abuse?

Yup, that's where you might get into the same warranty gripes that people have with Honda at times when they are told it was caused by driver error.
The other alternative is a really good "at your own risk" disclaimer for this mod. One bad warranty lawsuit could break you financially, even if you win, the attorney costs alone...
I'm sure you guys know what you're doing and will figure out a good solution.
On another note, I got the billet pulleys in today and had them installed in about 10 minutes, great job on the craftsmanship and detailed install instructions. The only thing I didn't get on was the alternator pulley due to an air compressor failure so I had no pneumatics... So far, I have nearly every one of your products and they are all great.

As soon as I can buy this w/ the new gear set already installed I'll jump on it. Even if there is a waiting list... I would like to be able to un-bolt my stock diff and bolt this new one in and be done with it!
