That's actually a good question. If they are bought from you in MD, there would be no sales tax for out of state residents, but if Comptech is doing the actual shipping of the item aren't the obligated to charge tax to CA residents?

MD pays tax, all other do not.

CompTech (or any other vendor) sell them to us and simply drop ships it. We are the retailer and have to collect tax for the states where we are incorporated. Bussiness to bussiness transaction are tax exempt when they are for resale. Only the retail transaction is where the tax is collected. I assume that this is so they get the percentage from the higher retail price.
