Comptech Cams??? It's a possibility......

I agree...we see these posts all the time. There is no guarantee that Comptech would produce these, but I want to show them that the demand is there. I would imagine there are at least as many people who want to go the all-motor route as there are people who bought their supercharger. And if the cams could produce some decent gains on the supercharged cars, all the better!! WE WANT CAMS!!

My understanding is that the Toda cams ($675 x2) are a help for mid-range, but I've never seen anyone's dyno that showed that. I'm really taking that on faith, but since Hams2000 is or was a promoter of them, I'm confident that he knew what he was talking about.
Anyone know of an actual dyno test of the Todas or have more specific data on them?
In any event, we all know that getting more power out of our engine is VERY expensive. In fact, I've read that the first 10-15 hp will cost up to $100 per hp and anything after that (not FI) will run up to $250 per hp.
Of course, I don't know how accurate that assertion might be. 
So, regardless of cost (within reason, of course), if Comptech can produce a set of cams that produce ten or more hp over stock, I'd get in line for a set. Since I intend, ultimately, to get an SC, if their cams would boost the hp production there, I'd be even more likely to buy a set.

I would think Comptech, especially after pouring $ into R&D for a supercharger which only a handful of owners can afford, would opt for a cam offering as a comparitively inexpensive option to upping F20C performance. If they can sell a supercharger at what, $3-4K a pop, you'd think they could make a profit on a set of cams, especially if they are shown to produce decent gains. Perhaps they believe even following their best effort, the gains would be too minimal for their cost.

Just as a reference guys, with cam and head, there is a lot of power to be had. I just dyno'd an RSX-S yesterday. Now, clearly their ECU is easier to mod for power, but that's just to unleash some of the untapped potential - otherwise, this engine is very much like the F20C in terms of construction and design. This car had new cams, headwork and all the bolt-ons. It made 265 whp on pump gas and there's another 5-10 in there as this was the first cut at the parts. Our engine has just as much top end potential (although not as much midrange without i-VTEC).
