Comptech Cams??? It's a possibility......
#1
I was speaking with a friend from Comptech about getting them to give us a tour of their facility for Sac2KDays II, and I asked him a random question I've often wondered about.
"How come you guys have never done a set of cams for any Honda?"
I told him that not everyone wants to go the supercharger route, and nothing would make me happier than a nice set of cams for a sweet all-motor setup.
He told me they have the capability to produce cams from scratch, and in fact they have done so in the past (though not for consumers). I do not doubt this, as they build IRL engines and have a bunch lying around their facility.
He said offering cams for the S2000 is a possibility, and it all depends on demand.
So thus, I start this thread trying to find out if anyone would be interested in a set of Comptech cams for your S2000 if they would produce them. If this thread turns out to be a big hit, I will forward it to the powers that be and hope for the best. I would most definitely be interested in a set, depending on price/performance, of course. It would compliment my 4.44 rear gearset quite nicely.
Anyone else??

If these would help to make the comptech supercharger more effecient with power, flow, mileage, reliability, etc. Pretty much like Station said, if the price for performance is there! I'm on it (when I get the supercharger )!

Make them, we will buy them. I still haven't dyno'd a set of cams that gained any power - it can't be that hard!
Make me wait long enough and I'll have to make my own, and I _don't_ want to do that!!

If Comptech made a few grinds, from streetable to wild. It would be a worthwile mod. Let's see, they have a supercharger, a header, an exhuast...etc.... Why not cams and possibly a matching ECU?

There are very many of these "guage the public interest" types of posts on s2ki, although Comptech isn't your average "garage band garage" shop. Like UL said, make them and they will be bought.
For what it's worth, I'd probably buy em.

I think i can speak for many when i say that when a company like Comptech puts their name on a product, the cutomer knows it comes with more than just positive power gains but also the knowledge and backing of a race bred company willing to go through many trials and errors to create the perfect balance of power, reliabilty and streetablity.
