I noticed around the San Francisco Bay area that the early AP2 prices (04-06) were anywhere from $13,000 to 20,000 with clean title. Considering that mileage and color were the major differences here, I could never figure out why the pricing was so vast. I say hold out until the right price comes along. When summer began there were about 15 listed within about a week in the lower price range. Now everything in AP2 has gone over $15,000. I even see 04/05 models 2hrs away listed at $21,000. You just need to wait for the deal. Somewhere, I got the idea that an 04/05 under 80,000 miles with clean title should cost about $15,000. Also, the Suzuka Blues, followed by Silver, then Black seem to sell for the lowest. Reds are selling fast, and whites are pretty rare around here. Although, I did see one white with a tan interior and that in itself it uncommon, so we do get a bit of everything.

Don't believe everything you read. A clean, well cared for AP1 could be a great deal. Mine is an '03 that I bought new. I autocrossed it heavily for the last 7 years. I've done nothing but change fluids since I've owned it. It has been rock solid, dependable, zero issues! It goes 6k miles between oil changes on Mobil 1 and I rarely add 1/2 quart between changes.

I paid $23k for a perfect 07 Silverstone with 20k miles. Orignal owner in his 60s with every piece of original equipment and records. I looked for over a year before I found exactly what I wanted.

During my quest, I found that if the s2k had a lower than KBB price, there was usually an issue. I also found that a top notch s2k would get over kbb, and not last long.

I found a mint condition 2002 with 47,000 miles for 15k. It was perfect and well cared-for, so I jumped on it. My face hurts from grinning so much just driving the thing home.

Congratulations! I know the feeling. I still grin ear-to-ear every time I drive mine. Sounds like a great deal! What color? Just be careful and don't get too wild, especially in the rain!
