2157, no offense but it isn't as simple as you are making it out to be. Sure you can get the material for a decent price but labor is expensive. Time is money and to get it right sometimes takes more the a few tries. Labor is what you are paying for when you buy a CF product, the time it takes to make a mold, the time it takes someone to make the product. Hell just to clearcoat CF and get that right is a PITA. Also don't forget that a lot of these companies are making the CF in an autoclave and full CF which is a lot more expensive to do then slapping it on top of some Fiberglass.

get a mold
then get cabron fiber from ANY foundry in america and its cheap now... 2.85 - 3.25$ a square foot...buy adhesive to harden the CF $50......mold the CF into your mold...lighting brush the cf with the adhesive and till its clear evenly all around... by the way wear gass mask this stuff can harm you...then when done sand it town 50 - 800 fine paper... and you got nice cf body part...

now is 2grand worth it?
if u think u can make it ill buy it

I never said it was easy or simple or u will get it in 1 try... im giving a brief description on how its done.

By the way there is a new rubber material i forgot what its called...but it lets u make mold very quickly if forsay you have the fender ... you just press the fender into the special rubber and clam overnight and the rubber will make the mold and hole it for a long period of time till you heat it up. the only problem with it was "sometimes" it would get extra air inside..

I used to read books about what people do to make cf parts but that was years ago. I forgot a lot of the shortcuts they use...
