Default Coilovers, all year round? yes winter too!

Anyone on here running their coilovers all year round? I am thinking of going with coilovers and I'll drive in all conditions. The winters here are moderate to really snowy, salt and other chemicals will be there lots in the winter to help rust the suspension.

If you are running coilover all year round, what kind are they and how stiff or adjustable they are??

Should not be anymore affected than regular shocks, but could not say for sure,as mine takes a break,in the winter.

Which kind of coilover system are you using?

Probably OK if you set 'em and forget them. Corrosion could be your enemy if you ever want to adjust them down the road. Also could be an issue if you go too low.

You will probably want to go with a coilover like KW that have stainless bodies... regardless of type, you'll want to clean them periodically so they don't seize up.

Use Never Seize (sp?) on all threaded parts. This will keep the threads from seizing from corrosion. I put this on ANY threaded part I take off my cars (live in Rochester, NY).

I will be running coilovers through the winter too when I purchase mine. I'm just going to try to avoid salt as much as possible, wash them as good as possible when I wash my car, and keep the bolts, etc, well oiled. Hopefully that will keep everything running smoothly.

I used to run coilovers on my old car with a 3" drop through the harshest MN winters, they use salt quite liberally here unfortunately but I never had an coilover related failures/issues.
