Clutch TSB question
I think I have the buzz in my clutch between 3K and 4K RPMs. It doesn't really bother me that much though. I was wondering if it's a problem if I don't get the TSB done for it. Will the clutch wear out sooner or something??

Actually the clutch noise is nothing more (according to Honda) than a harmonic in the disk caused by the lash of the transmission gears and the pulses of the engine decelerating. As I understand it there is no harm caused and it is unlikely to get worse with time.
The TSB replaces the clutch disk with one that has a damper in the hub that is designed to reduce the buzzing noise. No advantage to this disk except less noise but when they install it they replace the pressure plate and the flywheel (since all friction surfaces need to be new or resurfaced at that time) so it is a new clutch on the company.
My aftermarket disk is a single billet piece with a six-spring hub that has the downside of the original

Are you sure that they replace the flywheel and pressure plate??? It was my understanding that only the disk gets replaced... I had them install a Toda flywheel and ACT pressure plate when I had my TSB work done at 33K miles.

When I had mine done, they only replaced the clutch...no pressure plate or flywheel. When I asked, they said they would only replace the other if there was any scoring. I had it done at 20k miles and there was a huge difference.

I've done 8000 miles and have had the noise since 5000 miles,so i finally did the right thing and booked it in under warranty. Being done tomorrow and dealer said they only have to replace the disc. Cant wait to find out if there is an improvement.
