Thanks for the pics cdelena!!

In contrast to the use of an aftermarket clutch system, Honda must continue to warranty these parts outside their warranty period. Not that I want my car opened up like an every 6 month dental cleaning, but It will keep a new system in place for the life of your ownership.

I think in good faith they are doing their best to address this issue. I have suggested using an aftermarket clutch kits.

Pros:
After market FD: Better spring dampening
After market FW: Better weight savings.
After market PP: Stronger springs for improved clutch engagement, fewer slips.

Cons:
Once an aftermarket Kit is installed, you are on your own!

My dealer claims the clutch noise is normal and finds no TSB covering what I'm talking about. Claims his mechanic has 27 years experience and believes the car is OK.
I'm going back down to the dealership and take the service manager for a ride.
Fight the good fight.

I had TSB-054 (old one) done before the TSB came out when my clutch fried. Honda replaced it on a one time good will gesture, and I haven't had any vibrations or problems with it (grips WAY better then the original unit). Do you think I could get the new TSB-054 with the even better clutch? I have 25K miles on the current clutch (#2) and while I don't have problems with it, a new clutch would be nice! Do you think if I went to a dealer and complained of noise (even though there is none) that they would put in the newest clutch? I'm at 34.5K miles right now.

I agree that almost all spirited driving will result in hot spots with this OEM clutch setup; I had them with NO clutch drops.. IMO the design and materials are just not up to the job (the reason I switched to the Star setup with the Toda FW).

The vibration sure sounds like a flywheel and/or pressure plate balance problem. I would think other damage could result if not addressed promptly.

For those that have not seen the

Actually,

The hot spots are on the fly wheel as above and pressure plate contact surfaces.
