I have no facts to back my claim up, only my speculation that seems to support my theory.
As many of you already know, the S2000's tranny is an awesome piece of work, providing precise shifts and a very high quality feel compared to the majority of standard transmissions.
When launching the car hard, the diff is what takes a lot of the shock load and as many enthusiasts and racers alike have found, the diff can fail. It's not unusual to think that Honda engineers also knew about this due to the unusual characteristics of the S2000 (meaning the car needs to be launched hard at high rpms) and decided to equip the S2000 with a clutch prone to slippage perhaps by design in order to save the rear diff.

#1 I have same problem as urs..seems like very common problem..
You might wanna wait on stepping gas until clutch is FULLY depressed.
Shifting sytle like #1 will wear out the stock clutch VERY FAST

1. You'll get a lot of slip if you feather the clutch during launch, but I've never had any slip on a 1-2 shift done as you describe. I think your clutch is on the weaker-than-normal side.
2. I think your shifter is normal. I don't worry about the notchy feel during lazy shifts as long as there is no grinding sound.
