Default Clutch peddle issue

Hello,

The clutch pressure feels loose.
This morning i was driving to work and everything was running smooth, clutch was acting normal with the tight springy feeling when you push in and let it go. Then today as I got into my car and started to drive home, I noticed the clutch peddle was really loose, and I couldnt let the clutch go as far back before it was engaging in gear. Feels like I have limited space to release the clutch before it will stall. Meaning I have to step on the gas a lot faster so it wont stall.

I added some clutch fluid, but still feels the same. Also I know if the rpm rises and the vehicle is not accelerating as fast the clutch is slipping. But it doesnt seem like it cuz it grabs hold of the gear normally and acceleration seems normal. Please let me know is it some adjustment that came loose on the clutch or does it sound like the clutch is going bad? Appreciate all the feedback I can get.

I just want to make sure if its just something loose on the clutch peddle, something i can fix or I have to take it into the shop.

Thanks

How empty was the reservoir when you put extra brake fluid in? Its possible you have a leak somewhere and took air into your clutch lines

This happened to me twice. Both times were fixed by changing the clutch fluid like you had said. Find some way to suck the old fluid out of the reservoir (like an infant medicine dispenser), and fill with new fluid.

After the last fluid change, it did take up to an hour to correct itself. I had to keep pumping the clutch while idle in neutral, and after around 50 times, the resistance came back and the car drove fine.

Both times were caused by a small leak in the master cylinder (leaking from the firewall port into the cabin). Just changing the fluid seems to keep it going for 1 or 2 more years.

The reservoir was pretty low, So I filled it up then I did the pumping during idle and it brought back the the normal pressure feeling of the clutch. I thought my clutch was dead, good to know that I had to only spend 2.99 instead of 1000+ for a new clutch. Thanks guys appreciate the feedback
