Clutch Lifecycle
How long have you had your clutch, and how many miles.
After 6K and 6 months, my TSB54 clutch is gone.
What what you experienced, and how do you drive.
My car is almost 3 years old, 15K miles, and on original S02s.
I would like to think I baby this car.

I don't know. I have the 02 clutch installed, can't remember when. Still strong, no issues. Mostly track and freeway miles (to/from track). The clutch has rarely been an issue with track guys I know. If you are burning your clutch out on the street in < 6K miles you need to re-examine your driving style.
About 10K miles on mine, like new.

When and if you have your clutch replaced I think you will be shocked when you see how terrible the clutch and pp look.
I recently had the tsb done (15,000 miles on the car) for the decel noise. The clutch and pp were toast and would appear to most as being a case of abuse. I have plenty experience driving manual transmissions and have had well over 100,000 on original clutches before. I have never slipped the clutch on the S2000 but had many high rpm shifts. Up until the tsb was performed the clutch felt great and never slipped. Who knows how much longer it would have held up?

while I voted 15k to 30k. I have had 2 replacements due to TSB's... the noise was the only problem. Niether clutch appeared to have much wear. I could not imagine abusing it enough to burn it out in 6k miles. Of course thats a lifetime compared to the guy that went through his in only 800 miles!!

I am not claiming to be the best driver in the world. But I did have to replace the clutch on my used Prelude after having it for 25,000 miles (plus whatever the other guy did). And I never had to replace the clutch on my VW Bug.
I am starting to wonder if there might be an environmental element to this issue. Here in Atlanta, it gets really hot. Is it possible that the PP material does not stand up well in in excessive heat, or am I reaching?
I am very confused.
Anyone want to try to describe the best way to drive this car and maximize clutch life? Or should I just look for another car? Cause at this rate, I could afford a Vette with an automatic.

I have an '02 with 11K on it. I have been autocrossing it allot, and I think my clutch is about to go. When I shift between gears at high rpms and WOT, it sometimes takes the clutch a while to pull the engine rpms down.

I've had my new tsb clutch for just under 6000 miles. My S2000 is my first manual transmission car(calm down I learned on another car years ago). I'm not perfect with the clutch, probably not even close, but the new clutch still grabs just as hard when it was new. Even the old noisy clutch grabbed fast and firm after 15k miles when I was still getting used to driving stick all the time.
