You shouldn't be posting on the forums. Honda reads this forum. Good chance they'll read this

I want them to read this .........I want everyone to read this and know what to expect when they have warranty clutch issues.

To offer "cliff notes" from the original post.My car is USDM MY03 original,no mods, never been to an auto-x or on any road course track.

It has less than 27K on the odo on a car that is 2.5 years old and I've been driving manual trans cars since 1972.

I've owned Hondas since 1984 and have had nothing but Hondas in my garage since 1988.

My current beater car is a 2000 Civic EX 5sp with 107K and the original clutch in it!!!!!!!!!

Point is I've taken more care with my S2000 than any Honda previous, ask anyone in the Ohio forum ,and still the clutch is shot @ less than 27000 miles

Fine good luck. But trying to give Honda a bad name over a clutch is like a drop in the bucket and highly doubt this would stop anyone from buying one. Let's face it most people that come here actually have one already. You sound pretty upset dude and you may be correct and maybe they should replace it... but what your saying is very hard to prove. I've had plenty of cars with a manual and I don't think I've had to buy more than one clutch either but hey... that doesn't make every car I've owned perfect. This isn't your Civic... far from it.

But hey good luck anyway. Fight the man!

Well I think the point is that he shouldn't have to fight the man.

Although I do think that clutches are definitely wear items, after reading your posts I do believe you and am concerned about the quality of care I will receive from Honda in the future.

It isn't my Civic and I realize it is a wear item. Before the purchase I was well aware of tire wear with the SO2's.I also combed over all the TSB'S in the UTH forum.

I'm not looking for a free ride;however to inspect the hydraulic system, see no evidence of leaks and then to look at the rear tires (SO2's) log the fact that they have more wear than the fronts and draw the conclusion that it is the "driver's fault" is

I will take this as far as it will go and will let all know the outcome.........

.....afterall it is for the sake of the S2000 community to know where they could stand if this issue arises in their own situation

I think the clutch should definitely be replaced under warranty. Sure, it can be considered a "wear" item, but, in that sense, so can pistons, cams, pretty much everything inside the engine that is subject to friction could be considered a "wear" item.
