i knew someone would catch that 8K RPM in 3rd...what happened was that i got up to 8K and before the intersection..i slowed down, then went to 2nd before the turn.

seems like some of you guys had miracle stories..haha

yea ive always wondered if anybody out ran a police cruiser. I talked to an officer about it before and he said the cruisers are so heavy with all the equipments and a regular cruiser does about low or mid 7's 0-60.

How do you people get so lucky? The only warning I ever got when pulled over was a 57mph in a 55mph zone. Yes, you read that right. I was pulled over for doing 57 in a 55 zone. It was late at night, on a two lane road, and I WAS GOING DOWN HILL! The pig was coming from the opposite direction and he shot me with his radar. I know this because my radar detector went off. My girlfriend asked if I got nailed and I told her that I was at the speed limit and we were fine. 2 minutes later this asshole was pulling me over. After arguing with him for about 20 minutes he finally admitted to me that he clocked me at 57 mph. This was only after I demanded the see the display on his radar gun. He did not ever allow me to see the radar display since he didn't give me the ticket. (By the way, If you do get pulled over and the officer claims he clocked you at a speed that you are sure you were not driving, you can demand to see the radar display and if it does not show that speed, you should have very little problem of getting out of that ticket.)

This tropper gave me a warning without even stopping me. I was on I-95S going about 75 in the left lane (65mph speed limit) at night. I looked in my mirror & saw someone pulling up behind me fast. I thought for sure this guy was going to tail gate me so naturally I sped up (no oppening in the right lane to move over).

At about 85 or 90 (who's counting) I saw the dreaded blue flashing light. By that time there was space in the right lane & I pulled over thinking about how I would pay for this ticket. He stayed in the left lane without passing me and in a few seconds he turned off the light and calmly (read 66 mph 'cause I was doing exactly 65) went on his way.

I never had that happen to me before - a great way to discourage speeding!

I was cruzing down IH-35, PACING a Sherrif who had 2 people in the car (one was in the back, and looked like a prisoner or something).

Well, the speed limit was ~75 and he was going ~95 (Yes, 20mph over the limit transporting someone).

I paced him for a good long while, and he would range from 90-98mph. So, I got over to the middle lane, and setup for about 97mph, eventually PASSING him at ~22mph over...

I continued to increase the speed (and distance between me and him) averaging around 120mph. I figured if he was gunna pull me over, he'd have some explaining to do of his own for endangering someone (Well, I was guessing anyway).

Needless to say, it was uneventful, he just let me smoke on by and zoom off into the distance!!!

Now how often do u have the balls to do that? I figured once in a life time was good enough for me :-)

------------ Second Story ----------------

I'm cruzing down a TWISSSTY road on my Sportbike, and I was seriously hauling ass, and the bike was wound-out in 2nd or 3rd (I forget), I round this nice sweeper, and poof, there's 2 cop cars who had pulled someone over. Well, I had really shut-down by the time I passed them, but rounding that 30mph corner I was doing ~70mph. One cop gets in his car, and persues, and pulls me over...

He says he clocked me at ...whatever speed. I'm like, how did you do that, you weren't even IN your car! He said he left the radar gun on, so I was like, "Then how do u know it was me and not some other car?".

His partner shows up (a girl), and I said the same stuff to her-- then I told both of them, "You realize were going to court over this, and your going to look like a fool, right?". (Oddly, no, I didn't end up in jail).

As they leave, she goes on to say, "Just go to court, I know he's not going to go to this one!". /LOL!

... I went to court, he didn't show, case dismissed.

------------ Story 3 ----------------

(Again on bikes), me and 3 others decide to block race for about 15 blocks-- stop light to stop light around 2am (bad idea 'eh?) Well, we'de stop... Then launch and get up to about ~140mph, then stop...wash rinse repeat.

Well, around the 15th block, a helicopter spotlight hits us, and we pull over-- cops show up.. a HELL of a lot of them.

Apparently they had been chasing us for the ENTIRE distance!!! We had no idea, and just actually STOPPING at lights, etc.

We all got tickets for 20mph over... Except for the guy who lipped off, ohh my, I think he ended up getting 6 tickets... ever sentence he spoke, the cop would just write another ticket.

Ohh..I could go on and on and on... Mostly bike stories (cops LOVE to pull over bikes in Arizona when I was a kid).

Only ran one time in a car. I was 16 or 17 at the time. Driving alog in a '69 AMX 390 when some guy in a TransAm decided to race so I hit it forgetting that there was a State Police Barracks ahead I blew past as I saw 2 cruisers throw on their lights. I hit the entrance rmap to 495 at about 140MPH and did a four wheel drift all the way on to 495. I was probably off at the next exit before they got on. I quickly slipped on to Andrews Air Force base drove home at a law abiding speed.

I did get let off going 108MPH in a 55 when I was about 23 driving a brand new 300ZX with no ID on me. They gave me a tickets for not having my driver's license or salesman's license (Dealer car) on me and that was it. All I had to do was show a Virginia cop my licenses the next day and there was not even a fine.

Here's my story

I had my car one week. I was on the PA Turnpike, coming back from visiting my sister in Pittsburgh.

I catch up to a group of cars in the right lane, doing around 75 in a 65. I'm right behind a Grand Marquis (could've been a Crown Vic, but pretty sure it wasn't). Plain clothes guy driving, female in the passenger seat. He pulls out to pass traffic, so I follow him. We cruise for about 10 minutes at around 95 MPH, when he pulls into the right lane.

My turn to lead I thought. So I pull out and pass him, and he follows me. I look back, and he's following at 100, 105, 110. At 115, I look back, and he's holding a badge in his hand on top of the steering wheel. OUCH, this one's gonna hurt.

I pull over to the right, he gets even with me, puts the badge onto the dashboard, taps the side of his head ('Be Smart', or something to that effect), then proceeds to climb back to ~95 MPH.

I followed him for about 100 miles until he got off the Turnpike. Thanks for the escort.

I was in my friends parents S500 and his mom was driving one night, so we asked her to get it up to 100 mph....she got up to 90 then what comes flying by in the left lane, a state trooper, probably doing arround 110, thankfully the cop apparently had better things to do....phew
