Default Clearing Headlights???

I know the subject has been discussed many times, but I am confused about the bulbs when clearing and changing over to Rick's smoked diffusers.....beneath the present amber diffuser..is there a clear bulb? To stay legal..I assume amber turn signals are a must..and if there is a clear bulb beneath the installed smoked diffuser..there goes the legality issue....and help in clearing up this confusion would be appreciated...

If you read through the directions on Rick's site for installation, this is addressed. Basically, you are 100% correct. Rick offers the types of bulbs you would need to get to go amber. Like the author, I could not find one of the bulbs in amber either, so I colored it with an orange sharpie. Other's have made suggestions on where to get the amber bulbs online. If you PM ludedude I think he knows where to get some.

Rick is also looking into LEDs to replace the bulbs. That way they are white behind the diffuser when off, but light up amber. They would also be less maintence than bulbs.

How did the orange sharpie work out for you? Is the orange bulb visible from outside the car, I was actually thinking about buying an orange bulb and then somehow painting it white or clear so it is not visible as orange from the outside (if that is possible) or worse comes to worse just leave it clear and be illegal.
Thanks
-Steve

The only problem is that they don't (no one does) sell our turn signal bulb 7440. For the JDM (Real, From Japan) headlights they do 1156.

I painted amber bulbs silver (don't go crazy with the coating). You can't see the amber through the head light, and it flashes amber perfectly.

i just left mine clear!
i like the "parking light" clear... looks kinda like a day-time running light.
i will prob paint the sides of the turn-signal bulbs orange so that i get some color (so that they match the clear side markers with orange bulbs better).

I ordered mine a long time ago(7440 silver bulbs that blink amber). I can't remember if it was from this place though.

I understand that most spraypaint the amber bulbs (less the contacts of course) with a high heat silver and the amber glows right through.
