They are legal as long as your bulbs are amber.

A detail that some owners overlook when "clearing their corners" (i.e. replacing the front stock amber turnsignal lens with a clear one and amber bulb) is the separate legal requirement in most states that there be amber side reflectors in front and red side reflectors at the rear of a car. If you notice, on the s2k (and all other cars sold in the US) the stock amber lenses have a dual role in that they are designed to act as amber reflectors from the side in addition to causing the turn signal to illuminate amber. When you replace the front lens with a clear one, technically you can be cited for failure to display the requisite front reflector.

The rules in WA state are pretty similar. The turn signal (which also serves as the sidemarker light on most cars) must illuminate amber on the front. On the rear, the light may be amber or red.
Also, in this state, when hit with light from the side, the vehicle must reflect back amber at the front, and red at the rear.
From what I've been told by many here, most officers won't ticket you as long as the signal light illuminates the correct color, even if you are missing the amber reflective piece on the front.
